Hi everyone, this place seems really active. I am excited to start posting here. I am usually over at e46fanatics. i have an FD also and it never occured to me to join another forum.
Anyway i did a few searchs as i am not a noob to the whoel forum thing but i got 2 quick questions that would be quite helpful if you all could answer for me
1. I need a new suspension. I have major wheel hop. I am thinking about HR springs and Tockiko shocks, is this a good setup? Suspension tech sways are good? i ahve about 1200 to soend on parts so please suggest some good setups!
2. Who sells good quality floor mats, i cant seem to find any?

Wheel hop can sometimes be just a problem with not knowing how to slip the wheels properly. You can reduce it, but rarely is it completely eliminated.

the car is a 93 touring purchased in nov 92 new, the body has 35k on it the motor is pretty much new
I gave the car to Peter Farrell's shop who installed his 500hp kit( ported race motor, Eeectromotive TEC 2 engine management, 1200 cc secondary injectors, etc...) but instead of the T78 single turbo, i have a TD06 turbo, the car has no cat and its a straight pipe all the way back, ACT clutch, Preasure plate and Flywheel. etc all power mods... besides that the suspension is bone stock and over 10 years old, the car is obviously a work in progress, my daily is a BMW, i plan to use the car mostly for street driving but i want to be able to launch it without significant wheel hop, i would love to be able to drag it for kicks a few times but i am really into AutoX. honestly i love this car more then anything in the world, i just want to be able to harness all the power it is making, right now once i am rolling i feel incredibly fast, but i cant launch,
any advice is appreciated!

for suspension, go over to the Suspension forum and search on posts by howard coleman. read them all. he is the man for suspension.
you can overcome wheel hop by replacing diff and trailing arm bushings and using good tires.
oh - read the FAQ stickies. There actually is a lot of very good info in there.

i read alot of that stuff, i think i am going to repace those bushings for sure
i was just curious what differnt people said bout suspension setups, i searched and read a bunch in the suspnsion foums, i was just looking for specific expereinces from people on a not so technical basis.

With $1200, you are right on the edge of some of the coilover setups. Tein Flex Coilovers are just a little above that and a lot of people seem to like them.
If you want to save a bit of money and still have a good setup, I would go with Konis or Tokicos and the RSR Race Springs. With the shocks, it's up to you; each one has benefits. I'm using the Tokicos myself (with Tein S-Tech springs).

If what you are looking to cure is wheel hop, your best bet is a set of trailing arms from rotary extreme and replacing the stock diff bushings with some urethane/nylon bushings. Some say the KGparts diff brace eliminates wheel hop, but I have it on my track car and still get wheel hop accelerating hard in 1st.

Here's the biggest money saving tip you will ever get here: join Mazda Motorsports. All you have to do to join is run 2 auto-x a year. You then get access to parts for less than dealer cost, as well as killer prices on the later Japan-only parts (Efini y-pipe, 99 brakes, etc). A few of the bigger part replacements will pay for years of auto-x. Besides, it's good to learn how to handle your car better. 
Barring that, call Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda. They are a large Mazda dealer in Virginia and Ray is very knowledgable and sells parts at very low prices, often with free or cheap shipping.

I run the Tokico / H&R sport spring setup on my track car - road course, that is, so I have little experience to help with wheel hop on launch. No complaints on the Tokico's, but the H&R springs are a tad soft. I think my R1 springs were stiffer, and yes, I do rub the fender liner at times, even when running "full stiff" on the Tokico's (stock rims & tires). On the other hand, with the Tokico's set to 1 the car rides very nice and pillowy around town. And the ride height with H&Rs looks great, not sure what the exact drop is.
this sounds good but i usually run my autox's in with my BMW CCA chapter, my 7 has been in a agrage for about 4 years now only recently have i taken her out again, but i will definately look into Madza Motorsports.

i use r7.com's nylon diff bushings, they elminated my wheel hop but you still have to deal with the stock diff which goes bad and then you start breaking axles after a while. I would recomend exactly what you are doing with the suspension then get the stiffer bushings, I wouldn't recomend the diff brace just fix the root of the problem which is those horrible liquid filled stock bushings.

If you want a 22-year SCCA RX-7 racing veteran's opinion on bushings in the FD, I strongly urge you to read posts by Howard Coleman. In fact, every FD owner modifying their suspension in any way would be well served by doing just that. If everyone here did, HKS and Apexi wouldn't sell another coilover product here (except to drifters).
