its made of stainless steel....the piping is 3in. mandrel bent(same as pettit CB) and the muffler is a pettit 3in. canister....the tip is a 45 cut from a 90 degree 3.5in elbow....the cut was made at a slight angle though to raise the attitude of the tip slightly.....hard to explain...but it made the tip sit just right.....

So did you buy a Pettit cat-back and put a new tip on it, or did you fabricate the rest of the piping as well and just buy a canister from Pettit?

Any reason why you didn't use the outside rear hanger? Just curious.

i did use the outside rear hanger.....and yes..it is a pettit cat back....i redid the tip....heres what the tip looks like from pettit....im not sure where pettit gets their piping bent, but it is from pettit.....i actually traded my N1 to my buddy for it.....so im not positive on its history beyond the fact that it was a pettit CB......was...lol.....

In your picture below, there's no hanger on the canister to the right of the tip. There are two hangers at the back of the car, one on the inside and one on the outside. That's why I asked why you didn't use the outside rear hanger.

and yes..it is a pettit cat back....
Thanks for clarifying. Pettit used to sell the Racing Beat cat-backs so it's possible that it's an older RB single tip.

both hangers at the rear are still in use....the pettit canister just moves the attachment point further back.....has a big nasty bracket that protrudes from the can....but the stock hangers are still in use.....

OK, I think I see what you're talking about in the picture. There's a horizontal tab showing at the top and around the middle of the muffler?

No, I was trying to figure out what kind of exhaust it was from the configuration of the hangers. It's not an RB single tip, that's for sure.

wow, good job. for a second when i first saw the pic i thought it was RE-A's dolphin tail, but the color gave it away.
have u thought about polishing it??? so some people won't relate it to bus and stock european mufflers.
not my first choice of muffler style, but i like it. its uber clean =)

I ran this exhaust for a while before I went to a titanium one (yours actually inspired me ). It was a old school 3" pettit racing exhaust with the monsterous 5" tip which I had cut off and had a dolphin style tip welded on using the pie method of welding.

If anyone wants it Ill let it go for $200
