New Clutch Not Releasing?

Well finally got the new clutch in. Having a problem getting into first or reverse while engine is running. Tranny will go through the gears just fine without engine running. I also feel drag or car pulls forward slightly with clutch in. So I'm assuming its either the clutch or the hydraulics. I rebuilt my slave cylinder about a month ago and everything then felt much better. But was going to replace the clutch anyway. I also have a stainless line already. Could not find any leaks anywhere. Any ideas? Rebuild master?

Sounds like you either need to keep bleeding or you have the clutch disc in backwards.

For me, I needed to keep bleeding the clutch. A Power Bleeder made short work of it for me.

From what I understood and the manual flat slide in correct? I did some bleeding of the clutch. Didn't think I would need to bleed to much cause it was fine before. Will bleed it some more.
Thanks

Could it be a clutch fork going/gone bad? Probably not as likely as air still in the hydraulics, but it should be easy to check though the inspection holes.

Well stuck my mitovak on and bleed the clutch, then did a manual bleed after that to make sure there was no air in lines. Also checked the fork its fine. But yet its still doing the non-engagement thing. So is there any way I can tell if I have the disk on backwards through the inspection hole? I had my wife actuate the clutch, the disc separates from the flywheel. It is in contact with the pressure plate friction surface though. Is the disc supposed to be between both surfaces when the clutch is disengaged or only one.

Thanks for the help

Adjusted the pedal again and it looks like the clutch disc is separate from both plates but not by much. Any ideas??

Thanks

Is there anyway I can confirm its backwards without removing the tranny?

Clutch was out of round so I took a closer look and found a crack in the metal at one of the rivets that went to one of the springs. I'm assuming that the .250 of runout must have attributed to the clutch not disengaging.
