new body kit causing cooling problems....
hi, I just got my car from the bodykit shop today.. I had a vertex bodykit installed.. And to my suprise the water temp rises really high when I speed up to about 120 mph.. which it never did before.. what is the problem?? and what can I do to solve this preoblem?? the temps rises about 3/4 on the stock gauges.. above the half way mark.. Pls help me.. dont want my fd to be destroyed
I am assuming they removed your under belly pan/air ducting( it is the black plastic piece the connects the front bumper to the subframe underneat the car to force air thru the radiator. Most aftermarket front bumpers stick out too far for the factory pan to fit correctly so you have to engineer something for it to mount.
my god.. yesterday I asked for questions about airducting my oil cooler.. now I need to duct both.. hahahahahahaha.. anyway where can I find info to help me make my own underbelly pan and radiator ducting.. been searching all day today but cant seem to find any helpful info.. OH the shop installed a kind of net to keep debris from getting in to the rad and OC.. u guys think that restrict airflow??
If you don't have the undersweep, you could see if one of RE's would work:

sorry about that (my net).. haha dunno what to call it.. anyway I just removed the license plate and went out for a hard run on my fd and the overheat problem seems to dissapear but the temps rises after a while about 5 minutes of continuos high rpm driving.. (which never happened before) anyway could it be that the vertex front bumpers' got considerably smaller air vent than the c- west one?? anyway will try to duct the rad..
