I just talked to Aaron from Gotham Racing about the BNR stage 3's. He said you have to send them your core. They will do some work on it then ship it off to BNR to get the rest of the stuff done. Gotham will then get the turbos back reassemble with finishing touches and ship it back to you.

He said it'll take about 2 months to get it back.

r the ones that can be bought off gothamracing the ones that goodfella is using? meaning, are they the new version of the bnr stage 3s? and how would these twins compare to such turbos as the t78 and t04r?

you cant run insane high boost with the BNR stage 3s, unlike the two singles you mentioned where you can run upwards of 24psi and more

Yup, they are the same.

They are pretty much 'pump gas' turbos, whereas the two you mentioned above can make good power on race gas at higher boost levels. I have not done much high boost testing on these new ones yet, although I ran 17-19 psi on my set of old 3s with success (performance in the 400 rwhp/125 mph trap range). The new ones should yield similar results, with better reliability. They're good for the 'sleeper' effect.....I surprised the hell out of a Supra owner a while back b/c he thought I had stock twins .

I spoke to Bryan recently, and he told me they can be run sequential, which would be ideal for streetable performance and a nice powerband. I am running them parallel for simplicity's sake.

Any other questions, ask away

Goodfella, quick question, as I am just looking for something with a little more bite than stock (was considering a TD06-25G set up) but with a lot of usable power. Are these still producing the high heat levels like the stock twins do when pushed passed 15-16 psi? No one really had a "straight" answer for me, really just beating around the bush saying they can make all this power, etc etc, but never answered the question about the heat levels being the same, or any less. My goal is to make 340 - 380rwhp, with a broad powerband, something the stock twins can do, but not reliably over time. Let me know if you have any input, thanks!

Hi Chris,

well, these are entirely new CHRAs with larger turbine and comp wheels, so they should have to work less than stockers at a set boost/power level. I can tell you at 10-12 psi the heat in my engine bay is much much less than my dad's R1, which is closer to stock. Pull Bryan's phone # off of his website and call him, he is more than happy to supply answers over the phone

I tried to google BNR supercars, but only came up with links to sites that sell the twins, no link to his site directly. Can you or someone point me to his site? I appreciate any help!

I have his stage 2 twins on my car....and I was just told today by my local Mazda Tech that my turbos are leaking oil.....they only have like 1100 miles on them. I PM'd Bryan and Emailed him...hopefully I can get them repaired or something. They boost great...but I am just worried now with this news today and with all the stories I have heard about them smoking. Hopefully Bryan can take care of them in a short time period....I don't want to be carless for too long....but I also don't want to pay out my *** to have them rebuilt.

It has never been on a dyno yet....but at 8lbs, I am beating up on 13.20's cars....so they are running pretty strong.

You definitely need to get more specifics. Leaking oil from where? How much?

I don't know if I'd trust a mazda tech. Best to get under there and see for yourself.

Leaking blue/white smoke out the exhaust from a possible blown O-ring on the turbo.....he is not just a Mazda Tech, but a rotary enthusiast...and is on this forum as well. I trust his judgement with my car. It's nothing major...but it's enough that it bugs me for only having 1200 miles or so on them.

If it's smoke out the exhaust, a catchcan or some more restrictive oil feed banjo bolts may cure the problem. That is what worked with the stage 3s, might be worth a shot before going through a turbo r&r.
