New BNR Stage 2s

I just recently installed my new BNR Stage 2 turbos, 1300cc Injectors and High Flow fuel Pump ... and had me PFC tuned through the mail by SR untill I could get my car tuned properly. Let me say ... I LOVE they way they sound .. I didn't turn on the radio for a week just to hear them spool. I was nice to the car after I put them in for a while. But when I got on it I noticed that my car boged at around 5500 rpm .. hmmmmmmm. I don't think I'm getting the power I should be ... do I need anything else .. or do I just need to have the car tuned??

Mods are: RB Dual Tip CB, Downpipe, BNR Stage 2s, M2 Intake, SR Upgrade Intercooler, 1300cc Injectors, High Flow Fuel Pump, SR Ultimate Radiator.

The boost stays constant ... But the tone of the car changes to a very deep drone untill I reach higher rpms the the car seems good again.

even though it seems kinda late, the transition from the primary to secondary injectors might need to me smoothed out with tuning.

Yeah I am still running Seq.

I am going to get under the car today and make sure none of the bolts and such have worked their way loose. I hope it can be fixed with a good tuning.

Could it be the position of the accuator in the exhaust maninfold? Or can anyone else think of anything that it could be? ohhh one more thing .. How can I check my boost pattern? and what should I be expecting?

Thanks for your help so far all.

I have the BNR Stage 2 with sequential and love them.

I did notice a few hundred RPMs increase in turbolag, but there was a gradual build up from 2k - about 2300/2400rpm range and from then on it moved like a freight train all the way to redline.

I to noticed the pulse sounds of it.

It's hard to describe, but the BNR stage 2 just seem to fill that stock turbo feeling and single turbo feel quiet nicely.

No regrets here.

No regrets here either!!! They sound soooo good.
And with the M2 aluminum pipe kit for the intake they are loud!! Very Cool ... Ghetto dave thinks that the lag may be coming from a dirty fuel filter, poor tuning or the ignition system may be to weak. I think I will try the Fuel Filter first and go from there.

do u have clipped blades?

Mines are clipped and Bryan noted that a few hundred RPM increase in lag is expected.

But it really hauls *** pass the 6500RPM mark where the stock twins seem to choke......

Dumb question here.

I am going to be getting some turbos soon (see sig). I want to stay seq and stock twin. Stage 3 is a bit much, but if I go stage 2 would I need a PowerFC and injectors?

yeah .. after 6500 it really gets moving .. I would say its borderline scary fast!! How might I go about getting a little extra torque. I'm out to destroy the STi and Evo ..they are what prompted me to start to mod my car like crazy.

What kind of power are your guys' stage II's puttin out, My stockers are maxed out at 12psi and only gained a tiny more power and some torque bumpin them up to 14psi. Im considering stage III's or single but I love seq. its so much cooler than single to me... I cant make up my mind...

Hey. Did your Stage 2s come back with the restirctor pills? When Rick(of Rick's Rotary), was installing mine, he said they were missing. He called up Bryan and Bryan said the stage 2s don't require them. But hey, guess what...I'm only getting 6.5-7 PSI of boost. I cranked up the duty cycle on the PFC and no help. I emailed Bryan but he hasn't replied so I figured this would be a good place to find the answer. If it is missing the pills, can you buy them from Mazda? Or is there a better aftermarket one?

Thanks
Hoody

what other mods do you have to do when upgrading to stage2 bnr's? im sure the stock ecu has to go, just wondering what else has to changed out to handle all that power

well, it'd be pointless if you didn't have a boost controlled first of all. A full ecu upgrade would be good for tuning. And of course opening the exhaust never hurts. Upgrading the fuel system is necessary if you really want to crank the boost.

dood....that sr map is bullshite....it will bog like *** because you are probably rich as hell. sr doesnt tune for your car...if you are not careful you will blow it up.

honestly i would not boost it at all until its tuned.

It's my understanding that Stage 3 seals have no increased lag, responds fast, but the only draw back is that they do let oil past the seals more easily.

Symptoms might be burning oil and smoke.

I'd recommend 2 if u want to avoid that for a slight increase in lag.

u can run stock inj, but I don't recommend uping the boost past 12-13psi.

PFC is highly recommended.
