new 1/4 mile..best so far. Also..summer slam

went to etown yesterday (sunday). This was my second time at the drags.
2.03 60' time
12.724 1/4 time
111.4 mph

My mods are full exhaust, intake, and power fc. This was done on street tires. I still think i could do better.
The IDRC summer slam was unbelievable. i have never seen so many girls anywhere ever! I mean there is no doubt the girls walking around were hotter than the models that were in the bikini contest (which were hot).
The car show was huge.
They also had some dirt bikes doing jumps off a big *** ramp...some kid fell off his bike in the air and landed on his head. Tradegic....he wasnt moving at all.

Good run Matty. What RPM did you launch at? Do you Know what the altitude is and temperature was at the track?
Thanks
Rick

Matty I was their and had blast as well. Just curious what color your car is? I watched most of the races and only saw few FD's. Im trying to remember what car was yours. With the heat we had yesterday I am positive you can bring those times down some more. Good Luck

i have the stock IC and stock motor with 30k miles. The altitude is close to sea level as the track is in NJ. My car is red and has the racing beat front lip and an air scoop on the passenger headlight. No race gas. Boost is set to .85 on the power fc...whats that close to 12.5psi. How do you calculate the power fc boost anyways?
I launched at 3k as i get tons of wheel hop..i even let of the gas partially in first gear to keep it to a minimum. This wasnt a perfect run....i think i could do better. This was on OE rubber from 1994, i cant wait to get drag radials.
It was hot but at the time i think it was only 79F. My car was sitting for awhile and was very cool. My water temp was 83C and intake temp was around 50C (maybe alittle less) at the tree.
there was a another red FD that ran just in back on me that went 12.4 (just watched it on the tape. i didnt see it in person). Anyone here?

oh...and i was shifting at the buzzer in every gear...is this what people are doing that run a power fc (boost doesnt fall off at higher rpm like with the stock ecu)?

Does an IC really help when drag racing...i could see that it would help on a track but a 1/4 stripwhats the benefit?

the added benefit i see from an aftermarket intercooler would be it's flow characteristics. the stock intercooler is more restrictve than the average aftermarket. I'm also not sure how much the stock IC heat soaks during less than 13 seconds of fun but rest assured you are seeing higher intake temps as the 1/4 goes on. but for spirited driving or track days, an aftermarket IC is almost a must for your mods.

NICE TIMES dude...

Can't wait till August 18th at MIR..

12's HERE I COME.. = )

BTW: to calculate your Bar readings to PSI.
Mulitply your Bar x 14.22..
Hence .85 x 14.22 = 12.087psi..

I thought it was 1 Bar=1Atm=14.7psi
and 1.00 kg/cm2 = 14.5psi.

I believe 1 bar = 0.9869 atm = 1.02kg/cm2, so none of them are equal to eachother. It's so silly to have all these units so close to eachother, I think...

1bar = 14.5psi
1atm = 14.7psi
1kg/cm2 = 14.2psi
