Need Vintage Red touch up paint

Where can I find a little bottle of Vintage Red touch up paint? I put a deep 2 inch scratch on the hood when I lifted it up and forgot to put the wipers down

Dealer. Your paint code is on the sticker by the driver door b-pillar, I believe.

Afraid of it? Why? You're minutes away from Ray Crowe @ Malloy Mazda. Hit him up. He'll give you one at a very decent price - typically half of what the local stealership costs. We're lucky we're only minutes away from Ray...

even retail i think the touch up bottles are less than $10. certainly will be a much better match than any auto parts store brand.

LOL, try hours away. Mavrck's just a couple of minutes away from me in Hampton.
Hey Mav, give Ray a call, I'm sure he'll hook you up.

Mine was $2.60, but after a while the touch up paint turns orange.

$10.00! That's it? Cool. I thought it would've cost more. I'll probably pick it up from the dealership then since it's just a few miles away. I'd have to wait a few days if I ordered it from Malloy. The scratch is bugging me and I don't think I can wait that long.

MavrickFD,

Is your paint the original VR paint? If so, the touch-up paint most like is not going to match up (as your paint will have been beaten by the sun and weathered). It will most likely be darker and still look like specs when you apply it.

Now, if the car has been repainted in the last few years, it shouldn't be an issue.

MavrickFD had his FD at my place yesterday, it looks like it's been repainted. There was some overspray in the engine compartment.

IIRC, the paint code for Vintage Red is NU. There is no factory clearcoat over it.

That depends on the model (for VR). Tourings were clearcoated, base and R1 models were not.

It might have been repainted. My '93 is the (crappy) original paint and it is clearcoated.

I repainted it, the factory paint wasn't clearcoated. Maybe production dates have something to do with it? Mines 6/92.
