Need Vacum Hoses Help
I recently saved an FD from the scrap heap. The car has a little over 30k miles on it but it was destroyed all over the body and interior, I have been working on the body and I just have started to look over the engine. I am new to the rx-7 my previous car was a toyota supra mkiv, and I havent had to deal with this problem. Aparently there were alot of performance modifications done to the car before I purchased it like downpipe, exhaust, FMIC, and so on, however as far as I know there was no single turbo upgrade. When I bought the car everything came with it as far as engine components, some werent on however. There are little if no vacum hoses on the car and they didnt come with the hoses didnt come with the car. The stock vacum hose router is with it but no hoses, so now onto my questions, if I sound stupid Im sorry and Im learing but I am wondering if there are any modifications that could have been done that eliminate the need for most of the hoses and if so what should I check for to varify that modification and two if there isnt where can I buy a good set of these hoses? Any other information would be appreciated, I dont want to hook them up myself if they all need to be put on, so please let me know asap. THanks to everyone who helps
You can always convert it to non-sequential. Search the forum and there will be topics on how to do it.
I got my hose from www.hosetechniques.com for $1.05/foot.
This is whats needed to got back to stock. Download the diagram.

There is a vacuum diagram from the factory on the underside of the hood that should help, also do a search in the forum for vacuum diagrams. You will find some nice color coded pics for your viewing pleasure Have fun!
So, why was the car going to be totaled? any pics??

The colored diagrams are great but I dont have most of the hoses on there and I am new to the rotary engine, it would take me weeks to get it right, as for why it was being totaled, the car was beaten with a hammer by vandals and it was going to be parted out and sent to the junkyard, and I wasnt having it. I do have pics
It sounds as if the car you purchased was converted from a sequential turbo system to non-sequential. This procedure reduces many of the vaccum lines, and hence the vacuum line headaches. If I were you, I would go with the "non-sequential" set up, only because you are already there. You will need to look up non-sequential on the search feature or visit the other sites mentioned to perfect this conversion. Good luck with your new purchase. You won't regret it.

If it WAS converted to non-sequential, the best way to check is by looking at the exhaust manifold. 2 flaps have to be wired or welded open in order for the system to be truly non-sequential.
Take a look at the exhaust manifold and tell us if you see 3 vacuum actuators on it. 2 bronze ones on the front and one big one at the bottom. The bottom one is the turbo control and this one should have been kept open. The actuators in the front, the top is the wastegate and the bottom is precontrol. the flap the bottom actuator is connected to should have also been kept open.
Check these areas. If the actuators are not even there, then there is a very good possibility that it IS non sequential. If everything seems to still be intact, then it probably still is in sequential mode.
