is it stuck in a gear or is it in neutral? you should open up the two plates up by the shifter and see if its the shift select spring.

it will not magically work just by putting it in the car. you need to get it shifting again before you install it. there are some cover plates that you can remove to see a few of the synchro forks. you should take a peek and see if you can figure out whats going on.

well the one i had laying on the garage floor i am installing i figured out what was wrong last nite in the wee hours of the morning b4 the swap today. i pulled of the plates like you said they seemed to be fine. so then i started disaseembling and when i pulled off the tailhousing i noticed that where the sliding bar hits these three forks i think they are called had been knocked out of place, so i lined it back up and it works find again. thanks for all the help i really appreciate it. i willlet you know how it goes, scott
