For those with power locking issues

ALright I was sick of not being able to open my drivers side door on the first time...sometimes not at all. So yesterday I removed my door panel and regulated. I have never seen such a ghetto door panel before. There were random pieces of white foam here and there for dampers and a lot of the stock internals of the door had been modified (ghettofied) to make the door fit well. I am not sure if this is just my door but I couldnt believe my eyes. I guess when a car is pretty much custom made that is what you get. ANYWAYS, here was the problem:
The bar linkage connecting the external key lock to the internal lock was interfering with one of the external key lock fixtures. Kinda hard to explain and I forgot to take a pic. The external lock is that triangular black assembly where you put your key in to open the door. It is removed by snapping off the plastic piece on the inside of the car, exposing two 10mm bolts. Remove the bolts ( which are also ghetto, it is just a threaded rod with a bolt superglued onto it or something). The interference was occuring with the lower bolt. It took me a while to figure out but then I noticed the problem. So I got some zip tie (an indispensible tool for fixing our cars) and reached to the inside of the door too feel around. There are 2 linkages...one for the door handle and one for the lock. In order to eliminate the interference it was necessary to zip tie both links together (not too tight...just enough to displace the lock linkage and stop the lock linkage from touching the lower fixture). I have no clue how this problem arose but it is all better now. Not only can I open the door from outside easily, but I can also lock my car from the inside while I am driving....both of which I couldnt do before.

I cant believe I was thinking about going to a dealer about that BS. I am sure they would have said I needed to replace ... the engine. Alright, anyone need anymore details lemme know. I LOVE free fixes.
