Question Need Some GOOD idea's (alt.)

So, I was putting my alternator back together last night and I had a (very) small drill bit in the "peep" hole in the back to hold down the spring loaded "thingees" (that put pressure on the ring sliders) so I could fit the rotor back in...things were looking good, I slid the rotor in and it felt like it was all the way in so I pulled the drill bit out and the "thingees" popped into place. To my surprise the rear ring slider wasn't in place ...and the spring loaded "thingee" (I believe) is caught between a slided and the rear bearing...STUCK, I can't pull the rotor back out

Not sure if it's even possible to pull the fawker out

Anyone have any good ideas or know what the loudest BOV is or how much hp I will be making and what my ET's will be?????

Better idea, use those magic powers you speak of and clapse the springs on my brushes so I can get my damn rotor out of the rear alternator housing.

Thanks for the insight and use of the magic powers.

I've never been in alternator before, but maybe you could bust the brushes, get out the rotor, and replace the brushes? They should be easy to break. It wouldn't be entirely wasteful since brushes wear out.

Just a thought - hard to say without it in front of me.

Thanks bud...that's what I was thinking I was going to have to do. But pulling with enough force to bust a brush is the tricky part.

I was pulling on it pretty hard last night...didn't budge or show signs of breaking.

Priceless...

Back to the alternator, can you secure the housing in a vice and tap it out from the back?

What about grabbing the end with a strap wrench and twisting/pulling it out?

I'm glad you feel me...I think RX7wishing is still trying to find my mods

I'm going to put it in a vice, but no way to tap it out from the back...I think. At least nothing good to push on. This looks like I'll have to put it in the vice and tie it to a truck. This has to be a pull job.

Truck idea sounds like more fun
