the type-s is better, i sold mine to my friend and he put it on his eclipse it was super loud then i got the hks super sequential and since my car still isn't running we put it on my other friends 88 turbo supra and it was almost like the stock one on the supra we messed with the settings (the screw) and it was still not loud, my friends eclipse could be herd from a block away with the type-s. it could be that the spring inside the BOV has to be broken-in.

not cool
i bought the type-s for $50.00 from a friend
bought the hks ss for $330.00
and it sounds almost like stock

hks ss is just hype.

I would only recommend the HKS SS for cars that are moving alot of air CFM....

My buddy has it in his 951 (FunCrusher on this board) and I can tell you that it is the loudest and most high pitched BOV i have ever heard....By a long shot....IMO there is no BOV (that I have ever heard) that can produce such a Distinctive sound that of the HKS SS....

Edit: God i sound like a Spokes Person for HKS...

Ill see if I can get a video of his BOV on here later tonight...

How about Tial???

The stock BOV's are actually pretty loud if thats what your after.

BTW - The more noise a BOV makes the less efficient it is

Yeah basicly... Cause it needs to 'whisle' so to say to make the sound that you want... A perfect BOV doesn't make more then a 'puff' or a 'whoose' of air cause it is more free flowing then a HKS SS'es 'chirp' sound. With that said HKS SS is best next to Tial, but different strokes for different folks.

The HKS SS is loud, no doubt, but it takes more pressure/vaccume for the valve to open, and open long enough under low pressure.

On the other hand, Greddy Type S will be much more responsive, it requires less pressure to open the valve. Its a LOUD bov also, and the best thing is that, it is easier to feed the air back into the intake system, for better air volume monitoring, such as in the MAF equipped car.

HKS...it's designed for low and high boost applications..as a pull type BOV it is not prone to leaking under high boost. If you don't like the sound HKS does sell different fin designs that alter it.

The GReddy is not more responsive. It uses a havier valve.

BUT,,,

BUT WHEN IT WAS TIME TO PUT IT ON MY CAR THE SOUND WAS "COMPLETELY" DIFFERENT...I AM ALSO AT 10 PSI AND IT SOUNDS VERY LOUD AND FOR LONG..I LOVE THIS BOV...AND WOULD CHOOSE IT OVER THE TYPE S ANY DAY...I THINK IT IS MORE EFFECIENT DUE TO THE TYPE OF SYSTEM...INSTEAD OF A HEAVY VAVLE...IT HAS 2 SMALL PULL TYPE...I BOUGHT MINE FOR $150..

on my friends 88 turbo supra we put the screw in the back all the way out so its easy for the vaccume line to pull the BOV open but it wasn't loud then we put the screw all the way tight and it was louder, does anyone know why this happends?

I would guess it is because their is a lower CFM on the Supra's stock turbo, the CT-26 stock turbo is not that big and runs out of gas around 14psi.. hey wait, so do ours! There is also a TON more intercooler piping for the compressed air to travel through on the 7M-GTE motor, and the stock intercooler has probably 2psi pressure drop at 10psi easily. I used to have a Sard racing bov on my old Supra, that thing was awesome and sounded real clean.. like a big 'whoosshhh' of air. When I put a 60-1 turbo on it the thing would blow off forever when I let up the throttle. Now they have the R2D2 or whatever that thing is.. ugly IMHO.
