I was actually thinking of going with the blue ones to be able to see any possible oil leaks....

flyby, here's fluidyne's oil cooler...looks like it's comparable in quality to the mocal and price is not too bad too.

The Setrab I am looking at is about 13" x 5.75" x 2" and is $115.

I am 90% sure the Gertrab oil coolers are the same a the Mocals, but a bit cheaper. I read specs on them, and the core design and the overall layout is EXACTLY the same. I even came across a site last night that referes them to a Mocal/Setrab oil cooler, and after talking to the shop that sells Setrab coolers, they told me they wouldn't be surprised if one outsoursed the other since they are both based out of Europe.

My only worry now is the hoses. To go SB or not

How much of a oil temp drop can you get with the CWC kit? vs stock R1 oil coolers.I was thinking of replacing one stock oil cooler with a CWC oil cooler to lower temps just enough.

I'm not sure to the actual numbers. I've deciding to do it now for a couple of reasons:
1) I'm replacing my front bumper, and so everything is right there
2) My stock oil cooler is shot.

Just a couple of hours worth of racing, my one oil cooler was REALLY REALLY hot. Sure, I know it SHOULD be hot, but damn, if it gets this hot, I'm sure a 2nd one would certainly help things out, plus these oil coolers are about 25% than the stockers, and have about double the number of rows

Hey, did this ever go anywhere?

I'd like to start doing some track events, so I'm looking at my cooling systems now. With Crooked Willow gone (They are gone, right? And no one took over production and sale of the oil cooler kit, right?), the only option seems to be to build your own dual oil cooler setup.

Which is fine by me. It doesn't seem that involved, and it's just slightly beyond my mechanical ability so it'll be a good growth experience.

Has anyone's thats assembled their own got a parts list and rough outline of the procedure?

My only real concern is connecting in with the existing lines. I don't have to tap anything on the engine, do I?
