need a little help.. what goes here

I just took off my air pump and my ACV and put everything back together.. I was very careful with everything taking off and setting aside parts and not losing anything.. Problem is, I don't remember anything being or taking anything off of here.. The guy I bought the car from tinkered some and told me I had a boost leak when I bought it from him. This looks like the culprit, but what do I do with it? Cap it off, or connect a hose from it to where?

That's for the ABV (or BOV). If you have one on an IC pipe, you can just plug it up.

so where's a good spot to find a plug that big that'll withstand the pressure being pushed through there.. i'm assuming i'm going to need a clamp, but i don't recall seeing any plugs that big at autozone nor did home depot have anything similar

autoparts store should have em........its just a rubber plug.......u definetly need to put a hose clamp on there....
that pipe connects the boost charge of the 2 turbos...its called a y pipe and sees the same boost pressure as your ic piping.........essentially it is ic piping.....

the factory blow off valve is what is normally connected to that nipple.......do u have an aftermarket bov attached to your intake elbow or ic pipes.......if not u need to install the bov to the spot in the pic and forget about the cap

DO NOT plug it. As mentioned, it's for the Blow off valve. If you still have the stock airbox, about a 6" length of hose should attach there which leads to the BOV. Then a short section of hose leading to the airbox. The second piece of hose isn't absolutely critical, but you really shouldn't just plug that.
Download the Factory Service Manual (FSM) and read.

i see.. sorry about that and being so noobish at this.. i tried searching through the fsm, but i must be missing it.. just have to try harder.. frustrating trying to fix other people's mistakes.. so the best thing i should do is either connect a hose from it to my air box or to my intercooler piping, or to install an aftermarket BOV there for the time being..

Don't just connect a hose to the airbox, you'll need to also install the Air Bypass Valve and its associated controls.

You should take it real easy if you're driving the car like that, just to protect the turbo. Capping it off (even if it's only temporary) would be safer IMO.

u need a bov.......
call the guy u bought the car from. maybe he has it laying around somewhere,go to a local rotory shop or mazda dealer or buy one here.there should be alot of em kickin around. post as wtb (want to buy) in the 3rd gen parts for sale section of this forum. the stock one is all u need..

BOV- it releases the charged air from the ic piping when u let off the throttle after boosting the car.......so the compressor wheels of the turbos continue to spin freely and undamaged
its a brown plastic thing
we were all noobs once
