need a little help, oil in motor after pulled.

i feel kinda dumb, because i should know this, but....
another guy and i pulled my motor to get ready for my next project. i'm about to sell this motor and the guy was looking inside through the exhaust ports, and said that there was a fair amount of oil on the front rotor. he said the rear rotor was clean as a whistle. he's trying to tell my other buddy, (who's buying the motor from me) that there are some bad oil seals. i've been around a long time and i've never really heard of any oil seals, let alone any going bad. i know we have direct injection of oil through jets, but thats it.
the motor is only a year old streetport from pineapple (w/stage 3 oil mods) only 5k on motor and 3k was breakin, (so should be under warrantee if anything is bad, as long as he upholds it) it ran like a champ before i pulled it. i think the motor is in pristine shape.
so is the guy full of ****, and trying to get the price down, or is something really wrong? opinions, questions, comments?
i've been around for a while, but just getting into the building, still lots to learn. this sucks, i feel like a newb again....
thanks for the help guys.

I think you are the one trying to pull on our legs! Each rotor has two oils seals on each side. True they rarely go bad.

Check the plugs is another way to tell if the engine is really using oil on one rotor and not the other.

Oil can drip into the exhaust ports while removing if you are not real careful.

If you had bad oil control rings the car would have been buring oil....And yes you can get bad rings, bad or weak springs. If the builder used all new parts they should be good. If the engine was pulled and he looked at it soon after it could be just gas or oil from the oil injectors. If the engine was using alot of oil....all he had to do is look at the turbo's or the exhaust manifold for signs of burnt oil.

well thanks for the help guys.
i wish i was trying to pull your legs.
the guy that helped me has been working on rotaries for years, so he has more experience than me. but he is telling my buddy, (the one who's buying the motor), that there must be a bad oil seal on the front housing, and thats why there is so much oil on the front rotor.
to be honest, i think the guy's just a dumbass. not really knowing what he's talking about. but i'm going to check it out in a bit, so we'll see.
thanks for your help guys, i wanted a second opinion just to make sure i wasn't blowing a potential problem off as nothing.
thanks.

yup, should have. unless rob doesn't want to honor it for some reason. i still should have 4+ years from manufacture related problems, although they usually happen within the first 1k or 2k miles.
