I have about 2600 miles on KDR street port. During the break in last weekend on my way to Atco Raceway, I notice that the oil pressure guage shows the warning light comes on and off. So I decided to stop by a nearby gas station to check my engine oil. Well the reading on the dip stick shows that I am low in oil. So I have to fill it with 2 quarts of oil to make the reading to full. After that the warning light is off ever since. I wanted to know that is this normal for the engine oil to be low during the break in. What cause the oil to be low. Does any of this symtons happen to 3rd gen with street port during the break in. I guess I have to check my engine more often.

I would definitely check under the car to make sure you don't have a leaking oil pan. It is very obvious if you do. There will be oil everywhere.

I don`t think that is abnormal. I change my oil every 3000 miles and I have to add oil once or twice during that time. Remember you`r engine is injecting oil, unless you have gone to premix, all the time so they do seem to use more oil than one might think they should. Why not call KDR?
