Red face need help with turbo timer install

I wanted to know where u guys mounted ur turbo timers, and what brands u found work best. I mean, a turbo timer is a turbo timer, but might as well go with something worthwhile if its gonna be for free..(Paps decided to pay for the turbo timer) u know what I mean? I would get crazy and ask him to buy a grip of electronics and "lie" and say that theyre needed for keepin the engine cool and makin' it last longer, but I dont think he'd "buy" that.

Oh, if u could include install help, or a link, ( I know, use the search) and how u wired it up with or without a wiring harness, that would be helpful. I was helping a friend install one on his eclipse, but we couldnt get the timer to stay ON when pullin the key out, killing the function of havin it. I know u have to wire an additional wire to a constant power source, but I just wanted to know where u guys tapped into for this source on FD's. Thx again.

The Blitz one is nice. It has a small unit you can pretty much put anywhere.
I have a GReddy one. I put it in that little hole under the CD player. I have an R1, so Idunno if other FD's have that hole.
About your friend's turbo timer, you guys probably forgot to ground it. Run the black wire to any metal part of the car. Either that or you guys forgot to tap the wire for the e-brake. I had an Eclipse and hardwired my TT w/o a problem.

You know after jacking with all the double sided tape and everything I decided to mount my HKS (the one with all the options like tide levels and moon phaze) up under the dash where I can't see it...

I was thinking about that AC Crotch vent but didn't know how to take the thing out...how did you get the vent out...did you take the whole thing out or just the part that swivels around?

thx for the help fellas, I ended up getting an HKS type-O. Block basic, and the color scheme of it matches the amber/red stock look very well. Got the wiring harness and installation was pretty easy. The toughest part involved getting that stock clip out. It was kinda warped in there, and a bit tricky to get to. I couldnt think of anywhere else to mount it, so I mounted it on the steering column. and I dont have that pocket like u guys with the R1's are talkin' about. And apneablue, that crotch vent was where I was gonna mount it, but I wouldnt be able to see it, and just lookin at that thing seems like more work than its worth to take out...either that or I was just lazy. If u guys have other suggestions on where u mounted it, let me know. I'm okay with it for now on the column.

I don't like them on the column...If you know how to use a drill install a grommet and splice wires, getting it in the glove box isn't too bad. The light is just too bright for right in my face. If I had a digital camera I would post pics...the sticker looks cool too in the glove box. I covered the glovebox light with an amber film and at night when you gbox is open the sticker kind-of glows amber to match the interior lights...

wow. I was thinkin of a glove box mount, but I couldnt find a way to fasten the timer to the inside of it. It just kinda hung out. And ur right...the amber light is bright, but Ive gotten used to it already. Its not too bad. However, it is too bad that u dont have a camera dubulup, because what you did sounds good.
