Need help troubleshooting AC light not coming on
The problem is that I had too many things done to the car that its making troubleshooting difficult.
I had a new wiring harness put in. The HVAC dash out to replace bulbs and get the front piece carbon fibered and some water in the relay box (have since replaced all relays).
The wierd part is that the LED light on the dash never gets power and lights up, however all of the other controls on the HVAC unit works and powers up. I did replace just the AC switch with a used one, but that didn't seem to work.
I'm just stumped. I am trying to find someone in the DFW area to do a temporary swap of the HVAC panel to triple check that it isn't something with the switch.
Any ideas? According to the trouble shooting it could be the "yellow wire" to the ECU, but I don't think that would cause no power to the LED AC switch light? I also took out my PFC and placed the stock ECU in as a long shot and still no go.

nope its an LED...I took mine apart when I swapped in the new switch. This one isn't lit by those bulbs that you routinely change in the instrument/hvac cluster.

Huh, fair enough. The A/C works and all that, but the light doesn't turn on when you have the button pressed? Try jumping the LED with 12V and see if it comes on, then try tracing the switch wires back through the HvAC console and see if one of them has come out of that ribbon-cable connector.

Actually the AC works only if I jumper the relay in the front. Otherwise, when I press the AC switch it won't turn on, nor will the light go on. With everything else working in the HVAC unit I don't think the switch is bad.....
I have the HVAC console back apart and re-sat all of the connectors and still same problem. I know the switch is getting some kinda of power because the "bulb" does light up when I turn on my car headlights....I just can get the LED to light up when I depress it nor the AC to kick in.

It looks to be a wiring issue. WIERD.
Thanks to Cavellm for letting me do a quick transplant. We swapped out his HVAC unit and plugged it into mine. Still no LED light and no engagement of the AC
ACK!

well I ending up giving up on the wiring as staring at the wiring diagram was giving me a headache.
Sent the car back to let the pro's do it at the shop and a little while later...FIXED!
It seems that when I pulled the dash to put in the black carpet I plugged in a connector by the blower on backwards. That was IT??!!! Dammit. Anyways, AC is working now just need to get it re-charged.
