Question Need help with my KnightSports head light conversion

Im in the middle of doing this conversion but have no instructions. If there is any of you that have it that may have some pointers let me know. I was able to get the light installed but it sits way to low (when closed) and the cover is not flush with the rest of the car. It is a complicated set up and i cant figure out how to adjust it as there are no adjusting screws for it.

His name's Anthony, but he doesn't come on here much anymore
He's nice, but he's had it on his car a long time, so he might not be able to help....

I have them on my car too but they were on it when I bought the car so I can't help a lot. If you want pics of how mine are set up then I can take a few tomorrow but I don't know how much it will help.

Black...that would help alot. I would like to see how much clearence you have between them and the car, with them down and when up. if you dont mind take all angles you have and possibly with the front fiberglass cover off.
my email is FEEDRX-7@cogeco.ca It can take lots of pics so dont worry about size
thanx a lot

Okay, I'll do my best to help out. Trust me, you'll be very happy with these lights when they're done.

knightsport instructions

I use to have them on my car! Nice set up. There is cutting involved with the install. Chuck at rotary extreme was able to track down instructions for me back then but that was awhile ago. Give him a shout. He is a real cool guy!
Good luck

Cutting?!?!?! It says this in the instructions......i was able to get the lights in without any cutting, just having problems with alignment and flushness with the body.

"black"...wanted to ask you also if when you have your high beams on is it just the inner lights that come on or both?? I have it hooked up so low beams are just the outer, and high beam is just the inner lens. I thought it made more sence for high beam to have both lights on but my friend says no, just the inside one.

are you sure you're not thinking about the RE Amemiya lights? those are the ones that Rotary Extreme's are 'inspired by'. i can't see why there'd need to be any cutting with the knightsport kit as it is a replacement popup not a flush kit.

i'm back from the graves... :P

there IS some cutting involved...you need to cut the factory plastic headlight covers, trim them a bit, and drill new holes i think....

this might be a long shot, but i might have the original instructions that came with the kit...the only thing is, it's completely in japanese, so when i was installing my kit, i went soley by the few pictures/figures it had...i also ended up with some hardware (screws and washers) that i didn't end up using...but whenever i put something together, i always end up having extra hardware.

i remember having to trim a plastic web from the underside near the rear of the headlight covers, in order to clear the new pivot/linkage.

i did get your PM shawn, but i'm unclear as to what part you're referring to as the "arm" and the "shaft"...if you can take a picture and mark it up really quick, that would be helpful...

in the meantime, i'll charge my car battery and raise and lower the headlight assembly to see if i get any bouncing/jumping when operating the lights...if i had to guess, i would think that maybe you had some extra washers or other hardware that would interfere and hit something as the headlamps were being raised/lowered...take a pic of your current setup and i'll try to do the same...

good luck!

anthony
