Need help with engine and dash harness blue plugs not matching up
Okay I am getting the R1 a purchased back together and I ran the engine harness that was supplied with the car which has a hand written label that says manual transmission. The problem I am having is as follow.
The blue plug off the engine harness is longer then the blue plug that I think it goes to by the passenger kick panel. The car originally ran on a LT10s ecu before I got a hold of it, I am running a power fc.
There is a small harness with blue plugs on both sides and a small black plug that goes to a little black "control" box of some sort on one of the sides. the side with the just the blue plug plugs into another blue plug coming from the dash.
So obviously I tried plugging the engine harnes blue plug into the other end of this harness and it is too long.
BTW the other yellow plugs (2 from engine harness and 2 from dash both plug right into the power fc so I believe they are good.
I have searched through the auto to manual thread hoping to see if the harness is the wrong one but could not find an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am getting so close to havin this car on the road.
I wanted to add that I just looked at some photos of used manual engine harnesses for sale and the blue plug looks to match mine.
thanks,

I am still searching and apparently I may be referring to the fan recall harness that has the two blue and one black plug on it. If this is the case then what plugs into the blue plug on this harness? and where does the blue plug from teh engine harness plug into?
thanks,
thanks,

I'm not exactly sure without seeing a picture but I believe it is correct that the blue plug from the engine harness plugs in to the white plug on the dash harness.
It could also be that you have a manual engine harness that you are trying to plug in to an auto dash harness or vice versa.
Hopefully someone else can comment on this. It has been a while since I have looked in that area.

Okay so i realize I am basically writting to myself but it seems I may have a jdm engine harness and i will check the pin count tomorrow on the blue plug on the engine harness. I took a photo with my phone but can only see the top of the blue plug and it looks to be longer on one side then the other so it may have the 12 pins and I will have to rewire to 10pin.
I currently only have the blug plug off the engine harness and the blue plug off the recall harness left to connect to eachother or some other plugs. If the blue goes to the white and I remove the recall harness that would be a life saver but I will have to see tomorrow.
thanks,

yes that is where I found the info that led me to think this is what I have. i appreciate the input.
Is that the only plug that you have to modify on the JDM harness? I am using a power fc.
Thanks,

Was the engine harness the original harness from the car or was the engine harness a jdm harness? If it is a JDM harness, You will need to repin or modify the blue engine harness to work on a us spec car. The JDM harness has an extra wire pinout on the blue harness making it a bit wider than the us cars. I have attached a pic with the two harnesses side by side. The top blue connector is from a US engine harness and the bottom blue connector is from a jdm harness.

Here's a couple pictures of those blue and white plugs from a stock '94. They're around some of the components that you're talking about above. Thought they might help.
