Need help droped motor in and tail lights and interior lights dont work???

hey guys I just put In my new motor that I bought from a guy here on the forms and my tail lights dont switch on but it works when I step on the brakes and also my interior lights dont work when I switch it on also. Plus when I start the car the OD meter blanks out and shows nothing and the guages dont work! but the oil guage jumps to the top and everything else stays down but my boost gauge works though. whats my problem? please PM me guys I need help cause I need to be able to drive my car at night. thanks

More than likely, you've got a short to ground somewhere. The flow of electricity on the majority of the RX-7 wiring is controlled from the ground side vs. the power side. (i.e. the switch is on the ground side).

Side note: I think Mazda did this on the 3rd gen because of bad experiences trying to control the power side on the 2nd gen which resulted in burnt headlight switches and other problems due to the arc that is created when power is suddenly present in a circuit. Lexus has been doing this for years in their cars. Results in less component failure.
