Need HELP diagnosing oil leak !! PLEASE

Here some back ground on my car first,

93 Rx7 touring
Apexi FMIC
Apexi intake
Fluidyne Radiator
Greddy sp exhaust
M2 ECU
1000 miles on new dealer installed engine and turbos
I have a pretty bad oil leak so today I put the car up on jack stands took off the skid plate below the tranny and oil pan and completly cleaned it with berrymans degreaser. I wiped every spec of oil I could find. So after the pan and tranny being completely cleaned I started the car and let it run for a good 15-20 mins to get it heated up took it up to about 2500 rpm's. I got back underneath it and checked for oil and NOTHING. I checked all of the bolts on the pan and especially the bolts that go up through the motor mounts and still nothing. Everytime I drive the car when i return it leaves a nice small puddle of oil so I no its leaking. Any ideas guys?? Could it be the turbo's?HELP!!

When I had a leak like that, it was the oil return lines for the turbos. Mine started out as a puddle and progressively got worse over a few weeks.

most likely the oil is leaking from the oil pan. It is very common thing on FD3S. Best thing is to just leave it as-is untill its time for you to rebuilt/replace your EG. If not, you are lookin at alot of $$$(labor) just to fix the oil leak.

***do not try to tighten up the bolts on the pan***
that will cause the problem worse.

info provided by Japanese Rx7 maint. magazines.

(-.-) i have the same problem too.

Go and drive it, park it, jack it up, and see where the puddle is coming from. It shouldn't be too difficult. Have you checked the oil pan drain plug?

Bring it back to the place that installed the engine, any reputable shop should take a look at it and fix it for free if it was something that they did.

If all of the above doesn't work, I'd guess that you could just drop and reseal the oil pan. My mechanic told me that Mazda will seal it at the factory, but that it's prone to leaking, so he pulled it and completely resealed it, then installed it. No leaks at all, 11k later.

I had a leak that came from a bad front cover seal, hard a hell to diagnose without removing some things. This engine was also a reman. I heard that it's pretty common in remans.

rev the engine up and build up a little boost in Neutral. If it leaks under boost, I bet, like the thread I started, it's front cover gasket. If your PCV goes bad and lets boost into the oil pan and front cover area, somethings going to give and you'll find the leak.

if it's up on all 4 stands, then go ahead and wake the neighbors and build 5 or 6 psi and let off. Then hope under there and take a look.
