Need Help Convincing Parents!
I have had this really horrible car Plymouth Sundance for ever and i want to get a new car and i have been saving for quite some time. They want me to get a stupid little car like yaris or matrix or a mazda speed 3 but they are all not that great and i love my twin turbo. I have driven in my buddies fd and i love it. Only way i can make my parents toss down cash is if i can find reasons y a rx7 fd is better choice than these new cars..... ex. y rotary is better and gas consumption and all that mumbo jumbo if anyone can give me and info i have done my self but if there is more i could know i would appriciate it!
Thanks
Thanks

I dont have kids, but if I did, there is no way in hell I would buy my kid an FD. If they want to then they should be preparred to spend lots of money for reliability and maintenance.
If you are mechanicly inclined, and have a good budget for a car like the FD, go for it. If you dont know alot about cars, go for the mazdaspeed 3.

An FD is not a wise choice for a young driver that does not have a steady (and healthy) income. Maybe put it on the back burners until your done with college and get a job, it's always nice to have a goal to shoot for!

dont settle for the mazdaspeed! hehe ill be the one guy who tells you to get the FD
i think the only way to win this one is to tell you parents the following
1 fristly, that you dont give a crap about fuel prices.
2 all those other cars suggested are completly disgusting.
3 how are you supposed to get a hot girlfriend without an FD(girls do come with the FD you know)
4 this car will teach you mechanical skills which will better allow you to work on your parents cars =p
basically adpot the "i dont care and i want it anyway" approach

If I had children, they would not be gettin an RX-7 (or any performance sports car) until they could do so without needing my permission.
And, your complaining but they are letting you get a Mazdaspeed 3? I just bought one three days ago and they are VERY good cars. Handling is superb, interior is on par with a 3 series BMW, and it will freakin smoke just about anything under $30k..

Cmon!!! not under 25. Im 21 I think im ready for one, With I got one already. But yes, you got to have some extra cash for FD, for OHHH **** MOMENTS. And it's defiantly not the first or second car the kit should have. 6 years of driving experience I believe is enough to own an FD.

Yes, this would not only be a terrible idea financially but probably not in the best interest for your safefty either. You best be a very responsible young man or woman to own a car like that.

Alright i guess i will be the one to go against popular opinion and discrimitory thoughts.
i am freshly 18, and i have an FD. Given i have only had the car for 2 weeks, either way i love it! Yea gas sucks...But hey i am willing to live with it. I also have a 240sx that i can use if my fd breaks down, Also as a winter beater. Oh and i bought both of these cars with 100 percent my own money! I go to university and i do drive fast(not drive stupid, drive fast). Respect the car and your fine, i dont push the limits.
So all i am saying is that yes a FD is a very big commitment and it is not a decision that should be made overnight. And it is definatly not for everyone.
But ever since i have been interested in cars i have loved rx7's. of course other cars come and go but the one car that has always blown my mind is the rx7.
Yea it will probably knickle and dime me to death... But i wouldnt have it any other way.

Since your 18 and go to a university, i wouldnt quite call an allowance from your parents "100% your money" lol
