FL Need Help! Car Won't Start!

I'm stranded right now in the parking lot of my job. The car doesn't crank or give me any kind of response when I try to start it. All the interior and exterior lights work, radio works, and I also have a voltmeter hooked up to the cig.lighter showing 12.5 volts so I've almost ruled out the battery.

Car has been working perfectly and never gave me any problems like this, I haven't done any recent work on it, it just happened out of the blue.

I'd appreciate any quick ideas to see if I can get it going. I'm gonna get charged up the wazzoo for a tow truck since i'm about 20 miles from home. Thanks in advance

Find something hard and hit the starter with it. Repeat a few times. Then try to start again.

Hope it works.

I was able to get it on by push starting it. So hopefully I can figure this out in the morning. If you guys don't mind giving me some advice as to what it could be I'd appreciate it.

While I was trying to start it, I found that it was making a clicking noise from the small black box of the ABS pump under the hood? But I have no clue if they're related?

The starter could be bad. Or it could be the rubber button on the clutch pedal that pushes the clutch safety switch rotted out and broke. Look on your driver's side floor mat for broken black rubber/plastic. If it is, super glue a quarter where the button used to be like I did

You know what it's real good that you mentioned that, I did recently start noticing pieces of rubber that are light-brown/beige colored falling on the floor mat that I was trying to figure out where the heck it was coming from. And today I found a real thick piece about the size of a dime while I was driving to work. So it could very well be that, at least I'm hoping it is.

I doubted it could be the starter, because my car has started up perfectly without a single hickup ever since I've had it. And usually starters wear out and you can tell they're about to go.

So anyway, luckily I've got the rest of the weekend off so I can get right to it in the morning, hopefully it's that clutch switch.
