Need help with buying an FD3S.

hey guys, i'm going to be looking around to buy a FD soon and I was wondering if there were any major differences between the 93-98 North American models. Do you know what the 25th Anniversary R1 edition is? What are the most important details to look at on a possible FD3S purchase?

If you could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
Sincerely,

Heavy-D

there is a lot of threads that you can look at by searching. and they were only available from 93-95 here in the states. there's a sticky for all the newbs to check out. should provide plenty of good info

the whole search thing is getting rather useless as more time goes by. more and more posts to bury the good ones. not everyone has the whole damn day to rot in a chair and search (you know who you are). it would actually make more sense to refresh on a topic from time to time. the new posts on past subjects would be alot more informative and streamlined without most of the garbage in between from yore. that should keep the more experienced members on their toes. just my opinion. take it how you wish.

It doesn't take long if you use good search strings. As in, not "RX-7", "hood", or "500hp." I think deleting many threads rather than just closing them would be more of a help than most options. We don't need to keep threads that do nothing more than point to a thread, which points to another thread.

Back to this topic... As said, the 3rd Generation RX-7 was only available in the US (And Canada) from 1993-1995. Hopefully you aren't planning on this being your only car. At the top of this forum section, is a thread to help out people just like you. https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/faq-3rd-gen-other-useful-links-68640/

I agree, single word strings are nuts. Deleting threads would be a great idea! Maybe posts should have a expiration date, only a poll within the thread could save it. This way the trash gets taken out and the good stuff sticks. The lounge should automatically clean itself, I mean, who actually searches the lounge right? ...Right? Imagine the load of server space that could be saved over a span of months. This needs to go to the suggestions.

a stupid question is better than no question imho. anyway, if you plan to mildly-extensively mod the fd like 99.9% of the members here do, don't waste your time buying anything but a '93-'95 base model. most of the stock equipment is gonna go anyway, so why bother? save yourself a lot of headache and get a good fd with a blown engine and start from scratch. or better yet, get a heavily modded fd and have it rebuilt right away. let someone else spend money on mods while you reap the savings.
