Need help on buying a 3rd gen

Ok I am debating on whether I should buy this car:
1993 Mazda RX-7 Twin Turbo,Hatchback,Rotary Engine,Automatic transmission,Two Door, only 54,148 miles on it.The car has been well taken care of, always kept in the garage.Flawless exterior/interior condition,no scratches and no dents. It has never been involved in an accident. The engine starts and drives like new and the paint looks great.

Here is a link for the pics:

This will be my first Rx7 and I really want this car because the guy will be selling it to me for $3,300. Is it a good investment? I have been educating myself on rotaries for sometime now and I have heard many bad and good things on these engines, mostly bad unfortunately . I will have the oppurtunity to test the car for 5 days before deciding to buy it so any info from anyone regarding what to look for to see if its a car I should buy would be greatly appreciated. Also if I were to buy the car what should I primarily do to extend the life of the engine. I have heard that going to a single turbo setup, replacing the rubber hoses with silicone hoses, etc. are things I should do. Is this true? I live in Texas so finding performance places for rotaries here aren't too hard to find.

Thank you for any help in advance

wtf $3300? I don't care if it's an auto, that's a steal.

you won't be able to do much for modification if it's an auto, unless you do a 5speed swap. I would buy it and use it as a beater daily driver.

Too good to be true, so it probably isn't.

Wow...do it to it. Especially if the owner is willing to let you test if for a few days first!

First advice: Don't buy it

Though, we just met a guy who picked up a CLEAN FD for $1500. I'm talking CLEAN.

There is no such thing as an FD being a good investment. It's mostly a matter of how bad of a money hole. Investments by definition increase your net worth. Spending money on an FD is no better for your portfolio than burning it at a strip club.

That said, a mint automatic with low miles is worth up to $10k. So first look very hard for $6700 worth of damage or needed repairs. If your mechanic absolutely cannot find such a thing (bad coolant seals, bad compression), then you have potential

If the thing runs at all, it is worth it. If it is legit, buy it. It would be a very fun car to drive.

100% disagree. Buy JDM, and you'll never lose money, even with a couple rebuilds.

Or at least that option is available in Canada.

Get a CarFax. There's a thread in the for sale section now here a guy claimed his car was never wrecked. Someone ran a CarFax which showed an accident and then the guy said "Everything was fixed". lol

The cost of a couple rebuilds is as much as most FDs. So even if you were importing them for free, your numbers are nonsense.

BTW, no we don't have cheap imports available to us here.

****... I guess it was a scam. The guy was doing the transaction through eBay, it seemed sketchy to me so I contacted eBay about it and they said they don't deal with anything off of eBay, it has to be listed, the car wasn't but he was making a transaction through some program that is really part of eBay but in a scam of some sort. hope he dies....
