need fuel system help please..

Hello,

I am in the process of fixing and upgrading alot of things in my car (3rd GEN) right now. One of the things I want to upgrade is the Fuel System. I have a Walbro 225lph fuel pump which does not have AN fittings and an inline fuel pump with what i belive is a -6AN fitting , but I want to use -8AN braded fuel lines.

My question is:
1) Can I use -8AN lines knowing that I will have to use the -6AN fittings in my inline pump?

2) I am also planning to get the fuel rails from KGParts.com does anyone know what number fittings they use in their rail lines(I e-mailed keith but I am waiting for a responce figured I can just ask here now)?

Thanks for your help,
José

**I already did a search in these forums but I did not find a specific answer.**

edit

I am sorry, question number 1) was supposed to say

1) Can I use -8AN lines knowing that I will have to use the -6AN fittings in my inline pump without endangering the pump, or the performance?

The smartass answer would be to sell both pumps and put that money towards a proper pump with AN8 fittings. This is the route that I would suggest if it is within your budget to do so.
As for the sudden pressure increase/drop caused by adapting, I would assume that the pump would be fine as long as it is capable of operating with a reasonable amount of fuel being fed back to the return lines from the FPR. In other words I wouldn't try it if the pump is barely capable of feeding the engine at full bore. At the very least I would not immediately adapt to AN8 from the AN6 output of the pump for fear of cavitation as a result of the sudden change in line diameter/pressure drop. I'd probably adapt the line a little further down the line after the pump and use an AN6 feed to the pump.

I think when all is said and done you will be no better off with 8 than 6 and if you are dead set on 8 then a proper pump is probably the best bet.

good luck!

If you are not planning on pushing over 600whp from your car why would you need anything larger than -6AN line??
