Wow, it's okay to support the 7 but some of you need to lose the ignorance.

The Supra is still an import, IRS equipped sports car; it's not made for drag only (insert big role-eyes smiley here).

Just because it is bastardized by TF&TF fools and drag queens doesn't mean it can't hold its own with the right suspension mods.

If you are into AutoX'ing enough, you'll see 3000+lb Z06's doing the same, if not better, times than a 2200lb *boosted* miata, and its in a 2nd gear AutoX.

Don't forget the Supra's .98 rating with lateral g's or whatnot...

The thread may be, but the arguement still lives on.

If you didn't recall this thread when you read it, then it's new to you, so who cares....

Well the way I see it, yes it is 4 years old but supras are definetly still out there and this thread caught my eye. The more I learn the better. I am building the ultimate 7 and when it's finished, Yep I am going to talk soooooo mush ****! 12500.00 later I will keep everyone up to date but I need to learn a little more yet. The way I see it with a couple people like mahjik, andy, and Rynberg this **** can't go wrong. Obviously I can't rebuild my own mot yet so that is the only thing that I have to have done by someone else, but it is nice to see what it takes to beat the highway monsters.

Takes more than the 13b Rotary usually can do.... But then again, they are different beasts IMO, and it doesn't matter. The FD is more balanced, while the Supra is "Grand Touring" (An excuse for being so overweight, I say!) it also gives owners great confidence in 700,800, 1000hp. I don't read of that with FD's. An LS1 and 3Rotor FD don't count, either.

I just think it's a waste to buy/make an FD for Highway racing...

Who is willing to take bets that the supra still has the same mods and the guy with the 7 is still trying to add more parts to beat it 4 years later HAHA

Wow, no faith...thats weak! Isnt a 11 sec FD the same as a 11 supra?????just my .02...
Anyone know whats the top speed on one of those boats?

BTW, i spanked a bpu auto on the way back from etown a few years ago...made him look bad, even when he pulled up next to me and told me he was switching it to high boost. There was a red one up here last year but it got killed running another member's FD(about 10-12 cars on the highway) so im guessing either he was stock or not too modded out.

i agree manny

but of the high hp supras are the road wont handle for ****, their setup is basically made for top end power..

i guess it depends on what you're into..supras are highway beasts stock, they just wont stop accelerating..the engine is damn near bulletproof..capable of making MASSIVE hp reliably..

sure our FD's look better, prob handle better (which i doubt though, i think the supra gets better numbers stock vs stock) but when you want raw out power, that power that puts in the seat til the end, you go 2JZ..sorry, no ifs ands or buts about that..

if i had money, there will be a 2JZ sitting in my car right now..
