NJ Need advise For my first tune up!!!!

I have a 1993 rx7 r1 edition and i just need some info on performing a tune up on the car. The questions i have pretty much include topics like what are the best spark plugs, wires, fuel filters and oil type to use on this car? I would also like to know is it nessessary to replace all of the vacuum lines in the car since it has close to 100,000 on the lines. The motor was rebuilt around 95,000 miles so i only have around 5 to 6,000 on the motor!!!! Any help you be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Have dealer replace the fuel filter. I just had my fuel filter replaced. Dealer charged me only 0.2 hours labor. Would have taken me a lot longer.

Dealer? Isn't that golden rule number 1 owning an FD? Not to take it to a dealer.

If your car is relatively stock stay with the stock spark plugs...NGK brand, BUR7EQ (leading) and BUR9EQ (trailing). Same for plug wires....stock is just fine. Change them one at at time to avoid mistakes and use anti-seize on the threads.
Changing the fuel filter is a notorious job due to it's location, not complexity. Just a matter of two mounting bolts and hose clamps. IMO you could have any trusted shop do it for you if you can afford it. Doing it on a lift is much easier.
Search for oil info, there are as many opinions as brands. IMO changing it regularly with the proper viscosity is most important.
SEARCH and READ. Alot of info in the FAQ section and elsewhere. Good luck.

So I've heard - I'd also heard replacing the fuel filter was a handful and it turned out to be so. Well worth the $30 bucks.

oil recommended

So what is the recommended oil to use for an FD? I notice some say that synthetic is not reccomended, and some say it is okay? Does it matter. I never own an FD before and all of my previous cars I've always use mobil 1 synthetic. Any help be appreciated..

I just asked my mechanic the same question. His feeling is the stock car will run great and safely on any 10-30 oil as long as it is clean. How often you change it is a lot more important than what you change it with.

There are plenty here who have strong oil preferences however.

Uh, wrong.

You should be able to replace the filter yourself.
