KS Need advice on routing plug wires

I am installing AEM coils and have a couple of choices on routing the plug wires. I want to keep my cruise control so I had to find a different mounting location. I have room to mount them to the left of where the battery used to be. The coils will be located almost exactly in front of the air conditioner/power steering pump on the metal crossbar. My choices are to run the wires parallel to the metal crossbar to the left side of the engine compartment, do a 90 back toward the firewall and then another 90 across to each plug. The wires to the rear rotor would be approximately 45" long. The fronts would be around 39". The other option would be to run the wires straight back toward the engine just under the power steering pump. This route shortens the wires so that the longest wire is approximately 34" and the shortest around 26". Concern is routing the wires through the fan belt. There is plenty of room but it seems like a bad idea. What I am wondering is how long is too long for a plug wire? Which way should I go? I need to get the wire lengths decided so I can get the setup coming. I did an internet search on plug wire length but I did not get much clarity. Any advice would be appreciated.
