Need advice / opinions ... engine problems

Here's what happened. I was driving home today after just filling the car up with 94 octane. I was in third (around 3k rpm) and stepped on the gas (about 3/4 full throttle). The car immediately bogged so I let off the gas and started coasting in neutral. The cars idle bacame erratic, bouncing from 0 to 1k rpm. There was plumes of black smoke coming from the exhaust and under the car. When I pulled over the car stalled after idling for a short while. I checked the boost controller and it showed a peak boost of 9.9 psi. When I got the car home I checked the map sensor and sure enough the vacuum line had popped off. I reconnected it and started the car up. It seem to idle perfectly.

Question 1 - Do you think there is a chance that there is further damage done to the engine?

Question 2 - Besides doing a compression test is there anything else I should check?

FYI here are the mods on the car:

3" downpipe
Greddy CB exhaust
Blitz intakes
Greddy profec spec II
Pettit unlimited ecu

Thanks.

go it a compressino test and if that all comes back well and good, get in there and start zip tying your vacuum lines on so this doesn't happen again... unless a line completely rips open

IMO, if the car runs OK with the MAP sensor hooked back up and zip-tied, you don't really NEED a compression check. There is no reason to suspect you did any real damage (it probably didn't detonate since you were on 94 octane gas), unless it still runs badly with everything hooked up.

Of course, if there is any question about the engine's condition, the compression test is the first thing to do.

IMO, skip the compression test. Just popping off the MAP sensor line isn't going to cause a problem. Make sure you reset the ECU and then have fun. Put a zip-tie on MAP sensor line so it doesn't happen again.
