Well it finally happened!!!

My 94 decided to commited suicide, but oh well I got almost a full year out of this engine. Anyways, I am in search of a good shop that make quaility 13b's. I will be looking to go with 3mm seals and a street port on this engine. I had a street port on the previous, but the shop said 3mm were a waste...yeah ok.. Well if any of you guys know some good shops that make top of the line streetable engine PLEASE respond.

Thanks

What caused your engine failure? Determine that before wasting money on 3mm seals. One ping and they break just the same as a 2mm. Once determined what caused the failure, spend the extra money to safeguard against it. Sounds like the car is built up, what safeguards do you have?? From your post, it appears the apex seal broke. Don't always assume the 3mm is going to last any longer than the 2mm.

Thanks for the links, but I was hoping someone has dealt with any of them personally.

Thanks

Definitely KD Rotary and Pineapple racing are the two to consider. Call up KD and talk to Dave.

BTW, what was the cause of your engine failure?? I see that you had an Intercooler and Pettit unlimited, and fuel pump. Were you just running excessively high on the boost or something??

Well if I was to take a stab at what caused my engine failure..

1st off it had a fan failure caused by a poor filter placement on the fans. This caused a short in the fan motor, which equaled a sky-rocketing temp. The engine seemed to be ok but then the stock turbos failed. So I upgraded to a T-70 p trim, but the boost was only at 10lbs peak. More than likely the seals were damaged during the over heat and the added boost pushed them to the edge. This is only my geuss I am not an expert by any means. I appreciate all of the advice though. I plan to safegaurd this engine far more than the last. Feel free to ask any thing else.

Someone on here is running 2mm ceramic seals with a streetport and i seem to remember him being very satisfied with his setup. do a search and see what advice he can give you about ceramic seals.
