Need advice on bridge ported 13b
When my blown engine was pulled apart, I needed basically a whole new block!
I was doing some search and came up with bridge ported series 7 13b for sale.
Descriptions about this engine:
-3mm Apex seals
-Slotted and rebalancd rotors
-all new seals and springs throughout with recipets
-Static and Dynamic balance of rotors and eccentric
-everything Prepped and polished
The catch is that rear housing was used with existing one.
Had some heat groove on it, but mechanic answered that it can still be used, so went ahead with it.
Another thing he mentioned is that it's only been done 300k's, so it has not been run in properly.
Because of the old housing (heat groove) he is saying it's loosing compression, but once apex seal settles in the housing, this problem will be gone... is this true?
He said it's hard to tune the bridge port engines... also true??
Since I have PFC, it's no big deal, but only thing concerns me is that the old housing + loosing compression.
What do you guys think?
Should I buy this engine? or serch for more?
He is selling it for NZ$2,000. which is bloody cheap!
Another question.... what does bridge ported FD sound like?
is it brap brap brap? like old skool style? Loud?
Or... does it have smooth note like street ported?

I agree with the cops statement. I have a bridged 12a and the cops always hastle me around Ann Arbor
