this is kind of a pointless thread, but i just wanted to say that it's fun discovering new things with the rx7. i've only owned it for about a week, but i was ripping it on the highway today and was pleasantly surprised to hear a friendly beep when i approached the redline. i had no idea this was built into the car and thought it was only with the rx8. anyways, that is all
i love this car so much and i don't regret spending any of the money on it

It's on all FCs and FDs, and I think FBs too...
I'd imagine it has to do with how smooth the rotary is in high RPMs, you can't really feel the engine speed the same as you would in a boinger.

perhaps, but i'm hoping that doesn't happen until much much later down the road. i think i picked up a pretty good specimen that's been taken care of pretty well. the engine was rebuilt by rotary performance in texas with 3 mm seals and it has most of the reliability mods already done, so i think i'm off on a good start.
The buzzer is on all rotarys, I've heard them in (stock) RX-2's, 3's, 4's and the rotary pick-ups. No rev limiters, so "hear the buzzer, shift" was the rule. (audible shift light)
I think the one in the FD is the quietest one of all, I know it's there and working, but I can't hear it.

yea it was a little quiet, but i had no radio blasting and i was listening to the engine so i heard it. audible shift light is kind of pointless to me since i'm looking at the road anyways, so the sound is all i really need
