AUTO to Manual (electrical)

Hey guys! from your experience of doing swaps on Auto FD to manual. IF I use the wireing from Dashboard of manual FD and use is on my Auto, IS that going to eliminate most of the wireing problem. IF not what else would I want to replace as far as wireing. I want to eliminate wireing swaps to the minimum.
help me out with this info. tnx

The conversion can completely be accomplished using the Automatic harnesses, including the engine harness. The only part of a manual harness that I used for my three conversions is the long wiring extending down to the manual transmission from a scrap manual engine harness.

If you follow the shop manual wiring details, you will see what I mean. I do not run AC. I do run a single turbo setup with a PFC. I have three vaccum hoses

Look at the above post. I converted an Auto to Manual using the Manual engine harness coming from the engine into the car. There is a small jumper harness from the engine harness to the Dash harness. You can make most all the changes to it without tearing out the dash harness.

Again, this is using a manual engine and manual engine harness coming into the computer. Splicing into the Auto Dash harness to complete the process and eliminating the EC-AT. I have verified as have others and it works.

Well I was thincking about puting the whole dash board assimbly into my Auto FD. I have dashboard with manual wireing.

Are you using a manual engine harness or auto engine harness? If you are going to tear out the dash and replace the harness, I think there are at least 3 different ones for the manual (with bose, without bose, with sunroof).

My post will save tearing out the dash. The small connector harness between the dash and the engine is removed and you make modifications to it. Plug it back in and plug in the manual harness and go (along with a few other wires to splice in).

I get that the EM harness goes to the tranny so that has to be modified/changed. As does the ecu. Why would you have to screw with the dash wiring? I dont get it...

I’m not swapping wiring in dashboard. IM replacing whole dashboard, for few reasons. the new dashboard coming of manual FD.

Good Point you made Tim. Because ON my FD I have Bose System and moon roof. and the dashboard that I’m putting in Does not have any of that.
Guys, here is what I’m doing. I have 2 FD's in my driveway. One is my automatic that I want to do a swap on. And the other one is manual (wrecked). It has being heavily damaged in Right front (damaging some Wiring).
That's why I’m asking you about your opinion on doing swap on wiring. Because some of the wiring like I say is damaged.
