Last week i did an oil a change and put in some fresh 93 octane gas for winter storage. So today I went to start her up I turn the key to Acs position and it started beeping. So I check the coolant and added some and I still get the beeping sound. I start her up its still there it wont go away and none of the dash lights are on. The beeping sound almost sounds like a digital wristwatch alarm it goes beep, beep, beep and it stops for about 2 or 3 seconds and does it again. What is that I never had that happen in the six years I owned her.

 

Sounds like the airbag beeping, did you take the airbag out or change your steering wheel or anything?

 

I did replace the steering wheel about a year ago with the Miata steering wheel and I did connect the air bag also. But never had this happen till today. Also the air bag light does not come on

 

With my car the airbag light does not come on but i get the beeping. Maybe the wire finally came lose, it really does sound like the error bag beep code though.

 

I will check it out this weekend thanks for the help I will post what i find.

 

seat belt. my friends fd does this in cold weather.. idk why.

or, airbag. which usually goes off after a few minutes. the bulb pulled?

 

I was going to say seat belt...the wire gets wrapped around the rail and gets pulled loose

 

**** guys I don’t have seat belts. The previous owner removed the stock ones completely and only had a Sparco seat belt harness for the drivers side and no seat belt what so ever for the passengers side. So I ended up buying two new Sparco seat belt harness’s. I am not sure how he deactivated the seat belt light and alarm. When I start the car the seat belt light comes on and then it goes away but the beeping will continue?

 

I cant find the reason for this annoying little beeping sound? Any other ideas

Beep beep beep? Could be the sound when you leave the key in the ignition when your doors are open. Check the nipple like switch and pull the panel behind it to confirm the plug didn't get knocked off.

 

Nope is not the key in the ign sound. Its a sound I never herd before. It almost sounds like a digital watch and its not that loud. When I turn the key to Acc I don’t get a sound at all not from my seat belt or air bag since I got the car. The lights come on for both air bag and seat belt but after a few seconds they go away. I never got any type of sound except for the key in the ign sound until now.

Sounds like aftermarket beep to me! Any turbo timers or multi functional devices hidden back there?

 

The only thing I got is the Apexi turbo timer but never had it make any type of noise. Thanks to BStallion for uploading the video for me great guy.

 

Isn't that the beeping for the coolant? My hose came off the tank and made a beeping but I don't remember exactly how it beeped..

 

No its not the coolant and just to make sure I toped it off.

 

Is it a continuous beep like.

First one is coolant but you will see the light come on on the coolant gauge. The second beep is the sound you get when you have your key in acc with your door open.

 

Did you get a chance to check out the vid? You can hear it in the vid. Is ther suppose to be a beeping sound for the air bag?

 

Again it sounds like my car with no air bag. I have to run home to get something i'll take a vid and you can judge for yourself.

I think your right. Last night I went and got under the dash and close to the gas pedal ther is a little black box that's making the sound and it looks like its an air bag control of some sort. Plus your vid sounds like mine. Thanks a lot for help.
