N1 Dual question

I'm lookin for an N1 dual, but everyone is telling me I'll regret it. I currently have a Blitz Nur-spec. Is the N1 dual really that much louder then the Nur-spec?

Thats one of the reasons I want to switch, I've out grown the whole canister exhaust look.

So any one know if the N1 dual is really that much louder then the nur-spec.

i have one on my car. it is loud but it doesn't sound bad. i've had only compliments on the sound of it. i'm not a show off at ALL so i wouldnt' normally like a very loud exhaust but i don't even mind this one. LOVE to ride along side of concrete medians just to listen to it.

your best bet is like Mahjik said, find someone who has one.

EDIT: and it looks great. barely looks like an aftermarket exhaust and gives you a more agressive look at the same time.

I think you will regret it not only from a noise standpoint but also because of lack of quality.

Al of the N1 Dual exhausts I have seen look horrible. The tips are single thickness and are usually not perfectly round. The "diffusers" attach through a simple drilled hole with a big shiny bolt.

Seriously, I was eager to see one in person but I was completely let down. The twin pipes do look better than a big fart can, but the quality just isn't there. The tips looked like aluminum flashing from Lowes just rolled in a circle.

I say, buy something else.

Here is a pic of my N1 dual..

Well, this is my honest thought on them..

They are definitely LOUD!.. When I had my stock cat, it was fine.. Nice deep sound and I thought it was just right..

Its slightly louder than pettit catback or racing beat.. I liked it..

BUT, when I went full exhaust, Damn, it was loud.. and I didn't want to get pulled over for being to loud.. I'm too old for that..

I have the silencers in, it helps.. I say it dropped about 15-20% of the sound.. and also it help with the boost spiking.. I had my PFC and AVCR set at .80 and it will hit .90 without the silencers.. Now, its pretty good.. around .85 max..

But the silencers do restrict the opening by about 60% or more..

I do like the look of it.. I don't think it looks cheap.. maybe because all these companies make copies of N1 duals and sell them for civics and other cars.. but the design and flow is unbeatable in my mind.. But I could be wrong.. Its all about if you like the look and sound.. and all the exhausts are pretty close in performance.. except maybe HKS.. i'm just not a fan and heard bad things.. except the ti..

i am currently running a nurspec. and i love it,it sounds bad *** with a midpipe and it gives good power i would say it is greatly underrated
The n1 duel in my opinion is a great exhaust it has a very aggressive exhaust note it sounds almost like a bike, and yes it is very loud but compared to the nur spec. i think they are close when it comes to sound level.I am switching to a n1 duel my nurspec. is all bronze and the tip is turning purple.

Well, here is a picture from the underneath of my car with the silencers installed:

Notice how the bumper is not melted (You can bend the hangers to get it to fit however you want). They look pretty tarnished in this picture, but I'm having them polished out in a few weeks - then I'm selling it. Also, if you still have a stock cat, it is not that loud, even with the silencers out.

They look OK from beside the car.

They are considerably louder than the HKS Hyper that I have.

The build quality and materials of the piping are definitely worse than the HKS.

Just the ones in my sig. Photos in bright light never show the diffuser well because of the dark color and shadow effect. It is the "old style" diffuser from RE Amemiya, available from a crack dealer... I mean RX7 tuner... near you. I got mine from Corksport.

Go with an Apex'i GT-Spec and Midpipe without the silencer! That's what I have. It's fun to go open throttle behind harleys and watch them turn around to see what's making all that noise

I had the single tip and now have a dual tip I didn't run silencers with either pipe. I don't want to draw attention to myself and have no fear of doing it with this exhaust. A buddy was riding with me and asked what cops thought of the car. On that drive we passed by two cops and they didn't even glance at the car. Its bright red with black stripes. Unless you have a open mid pipe I just don't think noise is an issue. It did however melt the plastic piece just above the pipe but unless you get on the ground to look at the pipe you would never see it. Quality seems good. I bought silencers for my trip to Laguna Seca, they have a sound metering booth there, and they fit fine. I ran the single tip up there had to shift early to avoid a sound violation (I think, because I never actually got one) but a completely stock RX-7 got two violations so apparently it is easy to do.
