n00b airbox question

So I took my airbox out last night, and when I was putting it back in, I couldn't figure out where to connect the only hose on the side of the airbox. There are a bunch on the back, but only one on the right side. From the looks of it, it was never connected to anything. This concerns me because it's after the air filter.

What is this hose connect to? Is it important? Does it need to be connected? Thanks!

There is a hose that comes off the driver's side of the box and turns underneath the box. It has rigid sections. It is for quietly venting the air from the airpump. It's not supposed to hook up to anything.

After owning an FD for nearly 8 years I never fail to enjoy that question.

If you are reinstalling the stock airbox then you just need to leave that hose in place.

It DOES NOT connect to anything. It is very confusing and caught all of us the first time.
