There were no N/A FD's made from the factory, and i've gotten into these arguments many times too. Some people just dont know, and feel the need to argue against someone who does know.

however,

someone felt the need to have a peri port 13B FD, so someone made one

You could also go this route But as everyone has said they(FD's) were all TT from the factory.

I guess because pretty much every other turbo car is available non-turbo - the Z, 3000GT, Supra, Eclipse, you name it. The FD is kind of unique in that respect.

Yeah, I've been in countless dumb-guy arguments on that one. "Yeah, my brother in law has one of those RX-7s. It's a '97 non-turbo, front wheel drive". Sure, buddy.

I want to say 9.0 to one for the FD.

there are higher comp rotors (9.7 to one) in the S5 N/As. You cannot get 'larger rotors.' The indentation on the rotor face is less pronounced, I believe.

I hate to break this to you, but your friend is absolutely correct, there are numerous normally aspirated fd rx-7's. You are correct to, they did only come twin turboed from the factory. You aren't missing anything other then a few minutes of time you wasted making this thread, go learn something and read the forums if you have to ask stupid questions like this

have you seen the video of the australian fd with a 4 rotor (26b)? It sounds like a major - league pissed off lawn mower! Incredibly fast though.

i have seen that video, but the 4 rotor engine in that FD is actually a hybrid. I think its 2 13b's mated together, not sure, but it does sound awesome.

The difference between the two is that the 26B, you have to buy straight from mazda for, IIRC, somewhere around 100K. And it also uses 3 spark plugs per rotor, 1 leading, 2 trailing. Of course there are many more differences between the 26B and a hybrid, but i'm not sure of all of them though. Maybe someone more knowledgable then can chime in.

trust me ive looked all over, to find a "stock from the factory" FD thats an n/a. the bet was that theres no "stock" n/a FD.

i know that there are people who have converted to n/a. but its not stock then.

so this wasnt a BS post. besides someone posted some tight pics! of a peri port fd.

Well, to be fair, it seems a lot of TT FDs are running near-N/A, anyway, because their owners are still tracking down turbo gremlins.

Yeah your correct if this is the red FD. It was two 13b's stuck together.

Its from New Zealand though - NOT Australia.

A Renesis based NA wouldn't be all that bad. Would make the car a lot lighter as well.
