Mysterious Case of the CPU #2

Okay, so here’s a little background on my car before I get to my question:

I’m in California and imported a JDM 1995 Bathurst Type R FD. It’s basically a Type R/R2 but is much more stripped down. My car was in nearly stock condition other than a boost gauge and Momo steering wheel. Everything electronic seemed to work when I got it, including windows, mirrors, locks, turn signals, etc. I stripped the car down to the chassis and either discarded or sold all of the original electronics and wiring, including the CPU #2. Now here’s the interesting part—the guy I sold it to said everything worked but his windows no longer function. After doing some research, he suggested that it was a CPU out of an FC. Can anyone confirm whether or not JDM FCs and FDs shared a common CPU #2 on any of the models? I can’t know whether or not the previous owner replaced the original CPU, but I’m trying to figure out why it worked on my car and not the new owner I sold it to. For reference, his car is a 1992 Type R JDM car. I’ve attached some photos and the model appears to be labeled F061.

FC and FD CPU#2's look the same. The guts are different, though.

There was a thread recently on this and the power windows on JDM cars go through the CPU for some reason. US cars don't do this. I *think* the 3-prong connector near the top (clearly visible in the first picture) is that circuit.

JDM CPU's are weird, they aren't well documented in the US, and it does seem like there are different versions and stuff. US CPU's are all the same as far as I know.

Could be he doesn't have that 3-wire connector plugged in.

I am the person the OP is referencing, F061 is the part number designation for the late model JDM FC, this is visible on the CPU above, I am not sure why his car came with an FC CPU#2 or if someone had rigged it in their previously but that is the CPU that he was using in his FD and the one that I bought and attempted to use in mine (i didn't pay close enough attention to the part number when buying it). As stated everything worked when I plugged it in except the power windows and yes I did have all plugs properly plugged in.

Here is also a link to a Japanese forum where i discovered this was an S5 FC CPU#2: https://cartune.me/notes/ndroQcDtwL

Also for anyone that might come across this searching for information, this is what I have gathered so far.CPU2:
  • FD01 = North America
  • F100 = JDM
  • F101 = JDM Auto Trans.
  • F110 = JDM updated model
  • FD13 = Europe
  • F061 = JDM S5 FC
  • FC61 = North American FC
