My Xmas present from the FD...
So Im driving down the highway going like 95 mph cause Im late for my parents christmas dinner and all the lights inside my car start to go off and its beeping like its overheating.. but it isnt. So I rolled to a stop and got towed home on xmas eve at 7pm. My tech said that my alternator shaft is bent. and thats whats causing my belts to be torn apart. I didnt realize that it was as bad until I looked at it in daylight and the whole belt is shreaded.

It's a good thing it was only the belt, and it didn't rip through anything else. Cheap and fast fix, you definitly lucked out.
Good news, merry Christmas and happy new year.

Congrats for having the good sense to shut it down and get it towed. There are a lot of people who would have just had to try to "limp" it home.
As fate would have it, I just changed my belts this morning because I shredded a PS/AC belt a couple days ago. They were old, but the real problem was a loose idler bearing. I've only had the car a few months, but it seems like I just keep finding things that were done wrong before I got it. There was some pretty sloppy work done by Mazda for the original owner.
Cheers,
