thanks for the random info.
My car came over from japan in 2006.
I checked my vin code and it starts with 2......checked all my documents, the car was built in 1993, but was sold in november 1994, and had its first service in japan in 1995.
you english is better than my japanese so it is very hard to work out most of the papers, do you have inspections once a year as there is every single bit of paperwork from brand new and there is ALOT!!

If your vin starts with a 2 your car is a "ni-gata", means it's a 2nd gen FD3S (same as mine actually. If you have an actual JDM model just send me your VIN and ?ill check for the exact model if you want.

Thanks for sharing, very interesting thread! Never thought Judo would come in handy on a car forum, recognized the numbers you were using from drills we used to count in Japanese :
(Ichigata) 1
(Nigata) 2
(Sangata) 3
etc.
your car looks great! nice work! If you come across a cheap set of Auto Exe chassis braces please let me know!

PM me for the braces. We have a store and export lots of parts but mostly to Europe. If I can help I'll be happy to even for used parts.
New Low Max full bucket seats are coming next week, I'll post some pics when it's all installed.

OK guys as I posted on may forums in Europe I also wanted to share my last track day with you guys.
Last monday I joined a "soukoukai" on the Fuji Speedway.
It was a rather big event and I was expecting to see about 50 to 60 cars...
However there were no less than 156 cars ready to hit the track.
I actualy joined the event with Okabe Jidosha Motorosport, a Super Taikyu Team you must know if you're interrested in the Japanese Motorsport world.
They provided with three pro driver. One of them took my car for 6 or 7 laps showing me a lot of things and giving my precious advice.
Pit lane was full of great cars and there are some pictures (big thanks to Adam for shooting the pics while I was having fun on the circuit):
My FD near to 250km/h:
I was able to seriously improve my driving thanks to Mr. Sugibayashi's advice but be nice to me, it was only my second time on a track in my life.

Comments are welcome of course.

I have standard kouki size on my car:
Front: 235 45 R17
Rear: 255 40 R17
These are actully the best for this car on a track. Okabe Jidosha Race cars (all FD3S) are all in the same size.

Thank you RLaoFD,
Car has been lightly modified since I bought it, maybe according to US standards with huge horse power...
I didn't want nor even need more than 350 hp actually. It's more than enough to go really fast on such tracks and this is definitely the only place that really fits the FD (to my opinion). Cornering speed is so high with good tires... Touge is real fun too! (^_^)
I can't say anything about the culture in the US but Drift racing seems to grow bigger in your country isn't it?
Personally even if I like watching drift races, I prefer grip driving... Normal you'll say when you drive a RX-7...

This tread is just fantastic! I really like your car and how its been made to be driven, not like here in the US where everyone wants some sort of dyno/show queen. I cant wait to see what else this car will be down the road.

Thanks again for the comments. I'll ry to take some videos during next touge run (I'm not that confident over there though^^)
I hope I wont offense anyone but as fas as I've seen most of projects from the US are huge horse power car made essentially for drag race or straight lines. To my opinion it's a big waste doing such mods on a FD which really desserves better than simple "muscle". Here in Japan I've seen Fd with 400 or 500 hp. Not sure it's really necessary though those with such a high power are not really faster on track and definitely useless on touge...

Love your car mate, I completely agree with the horsepower thing, alot of people are obsessed by big numbers and dyno sheet's but it's a complete waste if you can't get it to the ground.
Would love to go to Japan one day and tour all the workshop's and soak up a heap of info, I think I'd be in my element there. lol.
Do you mind if I contact you regarding a few question's with my Spirit-R?
Cheers

Oh Nick, you're there, never noticed
I can't agree more about the useless of big numbers on an FD, but it's still fun to see those stupidly fast cars
(I think Amemiya & Feed reached the better compromise with their 400 to 420 ps cars for the touge / track application)
