it seems like there were fair number of dealerships who didn't put it on, particularly in snowy parts of the country.

you can add cruise, sgtblue on here did it, possibly a few others, the main control parts are all there, you need to add the on/off button, the accel/decel/set switch on the steering wheel, and the cable in the engine bay, I think that's it.
edit: enjoy cruise on an R1, that's one of two things I wish mine had (the other being base seats, I don't care for the suede)

Ahhhh I see. Well it did come in handy on the long trip back after picking it up. I'll be sure to enjoy it some more once the rebuild is done... sigh.
And you also had a good point staticguitar313, but I don't know how to multi-quote ha
Did the Topic Creator ever figure out what he has??? haha

See I've heard this before too. My 7 has all the tell tale signs of an R1 except that it has factory cruise control. So I went to mazdausa.com when I bought it many moons ago and entered my vin and it confirmed that my 7 was in fact an R1 even though it has factory cruise control. Strange huh? She is a special snowflake

yellow was replaced with silver.
there were a TON of little changes to the 94 cars in general, but that's all that was R package specific.
