This is sad. I'm sorry. :-(

btw, it might be caused by leaking fuel near the turbo? fuel injection leak maybe? have you smell fuel lately ? :-(

Most house insurance won't cover it, they'll tell you to go to your auto insurance because it has an engine in it and is driveable. It won't hurt to ask thought, will be nice if they cover something.

man that really sucks.

i had a fire in my garage with my SC300, but it happened while i was working on it; i didn't disconnect the battery, and i was cleaning part of the engine bay with brake cleaner where the starter and battery cable are, SPARK, POOF, fire in the engine bay. singed my eyebrows. serious. i ended up being able to push the car out quickly enough and got the fire put out, but it was a terrible experience. i ended up having to pay about 1000$ in parts (replaced wiring harness, AC lines, steering rack, etc.).

i'm guessing you pulled into the garage, got out, walked inside, and didn't know the engine bay was on fire?

my first RX7 was an 87 TurboII which burned to the ground in the parking garage at my college, back in 2002. we had to just stand there and watch it burn. the tires exploded. i now carry a small fire extinguisher in my "rx7-owner's-mandatory-toolbag" craftsman small toolbag:

That's a tough pill to swallow. I wish I knew someone that could tag my walls in the garage like yours in that first pic. Good luck on insurance claim, hope they can do something.
How come your wheels are different before and after?

****. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Tomorrow I was planning to change the oil and coolant in the car. After seeing this and the other fire thread, I think I'm gonna make sure to check for any kind of leaks.
