Smile My RX-7 pics!

I should be getting my RX-7 Friday. We are still working out the details. It is a 1993 Silverstone Metallic Touring edition with red leather interior with 55,800 miles. AUTOMATIC However it is a great price. The only things currently wrong are the transmission and A/C. PICS!!

I am buying it for $8,500! I believe the A/C fan isn't working, need to look further into it.

That is a great price! If the transmission is already broke, I suggest doing the 5 speed conversion. There is plenty of help on the net to get the job done.

I would love to do the 5 speed conversion but I don't have the tools or the know how to do it! Plus it will be a daily driver and a 5 speed could get annoying.

Actually, a 5-speed daily driver really isn't that annoying. If you haven't been driving a stick much over the years, you just end up forgetting about it. You just do it and not think about it. 5-speeds are not as much of a pain in the butt for everyday driving as some people make them out to be... However, if you stick some drag racing puck clutch on it or something like that, you are on your own.

Only in heavy, stop-and-go traffic. And when you're talking about a car like the FD, my personal opinion is that an auto shouldn't even be a consideration. Why anyone would want an automatic transmission in a car like this is mystifying to me.

Would it be possible to have the 5 speed conversion done by a mechanic for under 2,000 with labor?

I found it on Autotrader and it was listed as $12,000 recently reduced. It is in South Carolina. I called the owner and he said it is now $8,500 which is the payoff for his loan. I have not checked out the motor but for the great price I couldn't pass it up. I am expecting it to go because it is at 55,000 miles. It could be fine.
