Is my powersteering going out?

well i just pull up to the gfs house and opened the hood to make sure everything's ok because i am sometimes overly cautious and i hear a weird winyish noise around the ps area, its dark and i didnt have a flashlight so i just left it for now... Drove home and notice it felt weird to turn maybe just a tad stiffer but barely and it makes noise everytime i turn the wheel, but straight is fine. i figured ill look at it tomorrow or wed when im off in the day time. i know where the ps filler neck is but where should it be at when full when i check it?

Sounds like your PS belt needs tightening, or is on its way out.... that would produce the squeeling sound, and would make your steering feel heavier.

Check that first.

There should be a min/max level line on the filler neck

Yeah check the belt and fluid first. You could try some belt dressing, or just get a new belt if it persists. Just to be safe, start sourcing a new pump. That way if nothing else works, you have one ready to go, or just rip it out.
