maybe a dumb question


while wroking on boost issue, i noticed that the line leaving the oil filler neck, the one that would have the PCV valve, is capped off?

its a mazda reman. whats the reason? and should I re-route it?

 

who knows why they did not put the pvc back in place? but you should do it make sure the arrow is pointing towards the uim. and use some zip ties.

 

what does it do? ive been driving with it like this for a loooonng time now.

 

You can remove it, search for PCV valve and you will find lots of info on it. I don't run a pcv on any of my FDs. 1995 fds came from the factroy without them

Yep, in '95 Mazda wised up and ditched that valve - it's useless, and much preferred to cap it off. The nipple on the oil fill neck pointing down should still be connected, though - that goes to the primary turbo inlet.
