Got the wheel in yesterday. Thanks to sled_driver for some install advice, and to ccarlisi and rotary experiment seven, I basically watched while they installed the wheel. It's nice to have friends eager to install parts on your car

Some notes:

the factory wheel came off much easier than I thought it would, couple of bolts and connectors.

There is a wire with orange connector (i believe it's the ground for the horn) which must be unscrewed from the usdm wheel and transferred over to the jdm wheel. Also, as mentioned above, the connector from the jdm airbag must be cut off and you cut the connector off of your usdm airbag and solder it onto the jdm airbag. There is a small white connector on the jdm wheel which is not used. Once everything was connected, we ziptied the orange/blue connector cluster underneath the center wheel hub to keep it in place and allow the horn to be mounted and not pinch the wires and connectors.

I bought this wheel from www.rhdjapan.com and am very happy with it. It looks brand new, and their shipping and packing job were first rate

How is the wheel size-wise and location wise to the stock wheel? I'm wanting either a smaller wheel or one that's a bit closer to me for the long term - I'll probably go with an aftermarket wheel, but the JDM wheels are SO nice looking .

Rich, the wheel looks awesome. I'm torn between that wheel and maybe the mazdaspeed wheel for the new car.

It is 10mm smaller than stock. It definitely seems more streamlined b/c of the smaller airbag portion of the wheel. It seems to allow me to turn the car with less effort (no p/s) and the leather feels brand new. So far I love it .

Looks great Rich...now that's how a sports car steering wheel is supposed to look. Perhaps GM should take some notes....

NICE! RHD Japan's got good stuff, and their good business people. I've gotten two things off of them (Mazdaspeed strut bar and Mazda Japan Aluminum pedals). Once again sweet sterring wheel you got it off the right guys lol.

I stole this thing off of ebay from RHD Japan for $152 (after an ebay coupon for 10% off) plus $75 for 3 day EMS shipping. It looks great in person, and I am very happy with it. I had to wipe the drool off before shooting this pic

actually, it's a little known fact that the postal service does deliver and do pick-ups on sundays. I worked for them as a temp for 6 months, and when you first start out there as a career employee, You work 2 out of every 4 sundays picking up the most used collection boxes and delivering express packages.

anyway, sweet wheel.

The steering wheel definitely looks good, Rich. I think I'm a little partial to the one with the enblem on it, though.
