My New J-Spec RX-7

It took a long and hard decision but I bought it for $7400, its got 74k Km and everything is really nice... I really need some tires and install the spoiler... After driving this beast, I don't know if I'll ever go back to driving a Honda Accord or something like that... No mods really, 2 K&N air filters, after market radiator, 18" rims, exaust, and a real nice sound system with an indash 3 mini disc changer and a cd player with 10 cd changer, momo accessories and NGK guages left and right... and thats about it... again the car is a beast... i'm guessing its the only one in korea and i took down cars left and right this weekend trying to test me, although a ferrari pulled up next to me, but didn't even bother with that... anyways does your temperature run at 10 O' Clock if the H is at 11 O'Clock? i know the engines run hot, but its got me bit nervous, i only kept it at 60mph for about an hour and speeding up and down the streets does it as well... i know understand the reason behind all the hype, you really gotta own and drive one to appreciate it... nice to have met you all...

Hell no it's not suppose to be like that. It's suppose to be a little less than 1needle under halfway, never should it go above halfway-that's blowing your motor temperatures. Do you have an aftermarket water gauge?(You said that there are two two extra gauges, right?

Ps. make sure that there is something blocking off the heat generated from the radiator fans-since you bought it with K&N filters, that's most likely the problem. I've seen it many times, the filters suck up that superheat from the rad.+fans!Goodluck

damm, i have no clue what the problem is with the temperature... ain't no one around here to look at it either, but i don't have an after market temperature guage... and yes i was naive about rx7's in korea, there's alot more than i thought and most are after 95's too... anyways thanks for your help, i'll try to see what the problem might be...

Okay I just realized that I do have an aftermarket temperature guage and my car runs at the peak 105 degrees so I think its okay. The temperature guage that comes with the car is a bit off I think. Also my Fuel Guage is messed up as well, a full tank and it points at 9 O'clock. Thanks for all your help.

i've been trying to post pictures but its not letting me!!!
apexkw, yeah i'm in the pyong teak area...
rybrx7, alloys??
is it hard to connect the tachometer?? i guess the previous owner had it disconnected and never got to reconnect them. also i have a second boost gauge and is that hard to connect? the previous owner had told me that he had everything set up... the car runs beautifully... been having some hard time to get tires for my rear wheels, probably gonna have to order them from the states... i spent $280 on a pair of kumho ecstas, 245/40/18... any recommendations on my rear tires? 265/35/18...

How can you get that car for $7400 US? Ithought that there is a huge tax against Japanese car in order to protect the home market mfgs like Kia, Huyndai etc.??

$7400 is a very good price.

Oh yeah, I would put ton of wax on that car to protect it against a nuclear blast that the Dear Leader is so intent on demonstrating to the world. Other than that, nice set up. In the US, you couldn't get one with a blown motor for less than $10,000. Damn, I wouldn't mind a second one.

Thumbs up

That's a nice car for being only 7,400. What type of hood? If I could of bought an FD for that cheap, I would buy many other things for my car with the money that was left over. 7,400 is not even close to half of what I paid for my FD.

the hood and the fenders are both from borders and its also got that K&N air filter box from borders as well... yes i do agree the rims are not the best and being 18inches, its hard to buy tires here in korea...
